My photos on the 25th started out as a scrapbooking project. I had intended to take the pictures and then scrapbook the photos into a calendar as suggested by Shimelle, who is teaching the class. I bought the calendar and fully intended to scrap the photos, but then April was over, May was over, and Summer was here. I was spending more and more time outside on weekends and didn't feel like going up to my scrap room after work to work on the calendar.
A few weeks ago, I started thinking about scrapping the photos digitally and making a digital album for the entire year of all the photos taken on the 25th. I thought if I used a template in Photoshop, it would be simple to add the photos to each month and just adjust the journaling and some of the embellishments to add some variety.
At first I thought I would use the Ali Edwards template on Shutterfly, that I have been wanting to try. And I started putting the photos into the Shutterfly website, but the album template didn't have the ability to change the titles on the pages, or other elements that didn't lend itself to a year long everyday type album. So although I fully intend to finish doing that album with other everyday photos that I take, I decided to look for another template that could work in Photoshop, that I could modify more easily. I actually emailed Ali Edwards to find out if she already had another template on the market that would be more suitable for a year long, monthly album. She said that she had posted a template to Designer Digitals for a photo book that might work for me. It displays 10 photos per layout.
I bought the template, which is intended for a Today You book. I think this book would make a great gift for someone that you love, parent, spouse or child. But I just wanted it for the template (photo layout) and since it is a Photoshop layout, I could remove the elements that didn't work for my album, which was something I couldn't do with the Shutterfly album.
So this is my first April layout. As I said I'm a little bit behind, but now that I have the book templates, I hope to be caught up before July 25th.

This layout uses a few different Designer Digital kits: Today You book by Ali Edwards, Dated Journalers2 , Title + Jouraling Blocks No.1 , Checklists No.1 , Everyday Hand Drawn Brushes , Weathered Neutrals Paper , and Pina Paper Pack .
Again I am wishing that I had that Wacom tablet so that I could make my own brushes, like the cool ones that Ali Edwards makes, if I get it before the end of this project, maybe I'll add in my own handwriting!
I will post the other layouts for May and June as I finish them.
